There seem to be plenty of sawfish in the river, especially this year, with quite a few people catching them. I caught mine on a big bony bream (about 20cm long). The freshwater sawfish is listed as critically endangered world-wide, with the Fitzroy River recognised as one of the last domains for these prehistoric creatures. After a quick photo opportunity, we used one of the kayak paddles to guide it back into the water (would you go near those saws?)<\/p>\n
